I'm not sure, but in some states it's llegal to curse in public, but it's one of those things no one is going to really get on you about. No one's going to hall you down to the station for cursing because you stubbed your toe or something. If it is llegal I think the same thing goes for being rude. No one is going to take you downtown because you didn't hold the door for someone or you cut in front of someone in line. On the other hand, if you do something extremely rude that is really causing discomfort for everyone around you than you may get in trouble for it.

That depends on how rude you want to be. The town I live in, it is illegal to spit on the sidewalk but you can stand there and call people all the names you want, as long as you don't get to loud or spitting mad.

I suppose if you are rude to a police officer, you might find yourself in trouble. If you insult a person in a fast food restaurant and cause a scene, the police might get called.
I guess if you are creating a disturbance by your rudeness, you could conceivably get arrested for it.

It matters if you are being rude physically or just saying rude comments. If it is physically you can get arrested witch is illegal.
