Pieces of My Heart
My heart holds all memories: both good and bad
Some are happy, some are sad
My heart holds all the past
It’s the only thing that lasts
I want to remember all the important things in my life.
My friends and enemies all stay in here
To me they hold something dear
I never thought I would care so much
About what happened back then
I remember everything; to my pen
I’m happy I remember, it’s a big part of my life
All of this is inside here in this part
They are pieces of my heart.

Ok, I may give a line by line interpretation of what this poem is telling me. The first line says that within your heart are good and bad memories. Bad memories make us sad and hurt, while the good ones make us happy. Remember the good ones and not so much the bad. The second one, I can say the same. The third line tells me that your heart hold the past. I hope it's a happy past. A sad past is disappoiniting, but I hope you learned from your mistakes and want to make your life better. The fourth line I agree with, your memories are always in your heart and they express your deepest ideals. The fifth line is good because if you remember the good things in your life, that makes you think good things. The sixth line I agree with to an extend. Your friends are in your heart, but as I said, the enemies, do what you can to teach your enemies that they were wrong not to want to be friends with you. The seventh line is good because your friends and enemies are what constituted you to the way you are. Eighth line: always care, even in times of stress. Ninth line: you learnt, they learnt. There lives are hopefully better, yours is too. Tenth line: I'm glad that you shared with me some of your past. Maybe one day, you should make a autobiography. You are a good writer and this poem is beatiful. Eleventh line: be glad that you can remember and do what you can to keep the memories. Don't forget to tell your children when you have them of your memories. Twelfth line: I don't know what to say. You expressed yourself and you did a good job. Last line: your heart is never in pieces, your heart is a whole. Always think with a whole heart.

i am not a poet, by far, but i think it's pretty good. if you don't think about it so hard, the words just flow out. write them all down, then find a way to put them together. this one sounds like you tried too hard. sorry if this seems harsh, like i said, i'm not a poet, nor a writer, or even a teacher/professor. i'm just a mom, who liked it, but felt a little struggle.

Not bad, but i would suggest smoothing out the center of your poem to better join the beginning and the end.
Keep writing. (Smile) practice makes us all better writers.

Its BEAUTIFUL!!! and yet at the same time it makes you think and its also a little sad! But its BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I could never make up something like that! Youve got a TALENT girl!!!!!
