My Grandson had this question for homework,he is in the 3rd grade, I tried everywhere and can't come up with anything. Help

December?
January is the beginning, so the opposite would be the end December.
seems appropriate for a 3rd grade class

An antonym is the opposite of something, so the best answer would be July, which is 6 months after January in the Gregorian calendar

That's probably because in a literal sense there is no antonym for January. Most likely the assignment is expecting "December" as an answer, assuming the idea of the start and end of the year.

July? Or, perhaps since the month is named for the Roman god Janus, who faced both directions, it could be in opposition to that.
