My wife is pregnant for 7 weeks and has experienced some bleeding. The nurses say it is normal and if she continues bleeding that she should come in. Is bleeding normal? How much? How long?

I also experienced a little bit of bleeding in the very beginning of my pregnancy. It was more like "spotting". Not quite enough to wear any fem. pads or anything.
If you already contacted your doctor -- you should be ok.
If your not comfortable with your doctors response, you may want to take her into the ER -- its better to be safe than sorry.

Im sure she is going to be fine -- CONGRATS!

spotting is normal. some women spot throughout their pregnancies. however, if the bleeding is heavy (soaking more than a pad's worth in an hour) or is accompanied by heavy cramping she shoudl go to the doc immediately. hope you'll let us know if everything is okay!

If she is bleeding heavy she should goto the ER asap because bleeding during pregnancy is not a good sign. It depends on how much..

Bright red blood is not normal. And its even more concerning if its accompanied by bad cramping. If she is having one or both of those symptoms she needs to see a doctor asap. A little dark brown blood is normal as long as it doesn't last more than a couple of days.
