I'm a slightly left of center liberal but it seems to me we are creating a nation of individuals who quite literally despise each other making fellow Americans the enemy, does this really help us to our goals as a nation or does it hurt us in the long run? I see posts and admittedly I've participated in some bashing of the opposition but really where will this get us all and to what end?

I think in the end it comes down to the fact that people simply aren't satisfied with the current state of things in this country. Either group. I also think that a lot of people feel like their voices aren't being heard, and so go to places (such as here) to make their opinions known. None of us have as much control over this thing as we'd like to admit, and that kind of instability/uncertainty is a breeding ground for anger and hate. Is it helpful or hurtful? I don't know. In some ways, it does only widen the divide among us. But on the other hand, arguing/debating are key components of change and progress.

that's why i p.c. to be liberal. there's a hate coming from the Liberal direction and there is an radical element interior what we might call the Liberals,. i'm against them, yet they have not got get admission to to media possession and that they genuinely do not characterize the mandatory perspectives of the Democrats or all Liberals ordinarily. the main important danger we face is from the richest between us who're illiberal of others and use their wealth and means to regulate the every physique else. they have the funds to get elected even although their schedule will injury the rustic. a respectable individual of modest potential would not have a raffle to win a seat of means in this usa. If we enable them to, they are going to do away with our freedoms and use us to combat their monetary wars... There are stable people in each component of humanity, yet every physique is below suited and could justify their immoral strikes a technique or the different. So we ought to combat the means so as that anybody team would not get the means of existence and dying over us. we can't believe them to be beneficiant, ethical, or sort. We ought to try to decrease their means consistently, by way of fact they are consistently striving to receive all of it. precise now the extreme Conservative faction has attained an stunning degee of means in comparison to historic previous...They very own the very suited court docket, have in basic terms come off a 12 365 days domination of Congress, and that they could have held the presidency for 20 of the final 28 years. they have moved our equipment of government to the properly suited and to characterize their ideology. the U. S. equipment of government could desire to be a mix of ideolgies

Your premise of your question is a good one. I am a conservative and get annoyed at a lot of the comments. Disagreement is not in itself bad. The problem is liberals are on the wrong side of too many issues. I cannot stand liberals and here is why:

We have liberal activist judges that rule that requiring ID's to vote is a burden on people. Why not just let anyone who wants to show up?

We have liberals politicans who want to give amnesty to illegals.

We have liberal politicans who want to tax people just because they think they make too much money.

We have liberal politicans who politicize every part of the war on terror. They call our troops killers and terrorists (Kerry, Kennedy). They want to give rights to terrorists under the Geneva Convention, eventhough they do not apply. They call surveillance of our enemies spying and some activist judge tries to shut it down. They call for the redeployment of our troops (which is English for cut and run Murtha, Pelosi, etc.) They do not even have the spine to say it is cutting and running.

We have liberals who think it was a good idea to give Kim Jong Ill nuclear matter. He is now testing a nuke. Thanks Clinton.

We have liberal politicans who think it is ok to allow a minor to have an abortion without the parents knowing.

We have the liberal press plastering every death, injury, and bomb blowing up in Iraq to try and show we cannot win. All these traitors do is embolden the enemy. The terrorists know they cannot defeat us in battle, but they think they can win the propaganda war.

We have liberals of both parties who think the UN is useful. I say kick their tails out of NY and let them know we are not coming with them. Let them make Bill Clinton the Secretary and let him win the Peace Prize.

We have a FAILED government school system that cannot graduate half of the inner city kids it takes in. When a dress code is implemented, they complain. In the business world, this level of incompetence gets you terminated. Not in government sect.

I can go on and on. I made my point. I refuse to deal with liberals anymore because they are so clueless. They have no concept of economics, leadership, sexual morality, etc.

If we as a society continue to allow this crap to go on, we will have a major city nuked and millions will be dead.

While the average liberal is probably a nice person, that does not do it for me.

I own my own business and spend hundreds of hours a year complying with tax laws. I also spend $1000 or more every years just to pay an accountant to do my taxes.

This situation could only hurt us. We are becoming more divided each day. Take the war in Iraq for example. We are there fighting terrorists and Americans would rather argue about it then do something about it. Only another national catastrophy could unite this nation again. If you don't agree with someone's view don't bash them.

I, like you, admittedly participate in bashing the other side on occasion, but you're exactly right--this witless obsession with demonizing the other side of the political spectrum is nothing but counter productive.

It has always been this way. It was even worse in the 1860s and that is why there was a Civil War. Nothing is new under the sun.

It's a shame. Extreme liberals will not give any concessions to the 'left of center', or center. Without compromises, both libs and cons will naturally take as much as they can.

It is bad for America to have this polarity. this is the result of a deliberate campaign by BUSH and is very wrong.
we all need to respect each other and allow for differences and have rational debate and decide by vote and be good sports like we did before all this
