The law says you must be 18 in order to get a marriage license and get married BUT, in the majority of the states, as long as you have your parents legal consent (this is done by filling out certain forms and notarizing them) you are allowed to get married while still underage. Check with your county courthouse for the exact details. If you want my honest opinion...the reason there is an age limit is because too many people make immature and irrational decisions that don't often have the best outcomes. The age law is in effect to try and guide some people from making the wrong choice too soon. I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do but, true love doesn't need any official forms or certificates to prove that it exists. Marriage isn't always the answer.

Most states have a legal age of mar rage of less then 18 but requires parental consent until 18. Mom or Dad say it's OK, she can marry. They wont? Three options.
1. wait..... Sucks but is easy.
2. Get pregnant. Most states emancipate a girl when she has a baby.
3. Have her go to court and become emancipated. She will have to prove to the judge that she can take care of all her own needs, and is ready to make her own decisions.
Good luck.

I don't know of any place in the US that lets girls under 18 get married without parental consent. I realize it seems that waiting for her to turn 18 will take forever, but the time will fly by. It really will. They may be able to cross over into Mexico.

I don't know about America (where I presume from your language, you are from), but in England the Legal age of consent is 16. However, one still needs a parent's permission to marry before the age of 18.

How about Arkansas? Or how about her parents signing a consent form. Or how about your brother waiting until she is 18...
