Use what ere removes the glue. It should not harm formica, but to be sure test in an unseen area first.

Ordinarily formica is adhered with "contact cement". If it is that, when it is dry, you should be able to rub it with your fingers and it will roll up in little balls and peel away.

If needed a hardware will have a solvent, harmless to formica.
