Yah I just saw that on the Yahoo home page! I find it kind of disappointing. Not being judgemental on people at all, but what happened to marriage? It's supposed to be such a sweet and sacred thing between lovers!

I say it has to do with women not being "property" anymore. If the husband acts like a jerk, a woman can move on. Most divorces are started by the wife.

Also, women no longer need to be married to have and support children. This is a major difference from generations ago.

It would be nice if everyone was mature enough to maintain a committed, long-term relationship but most people are not. (Including me.)

With all the breakups, it is the norm. When we let our society go to pot it just keep on going. I have been divorced for two years and see absolutely no reason to get married again. It is once burned, twice shy. I am a committed relationship right now but don't think that it will lead to marriage. I don't see any problem with it. I don't need a legal piece of paper to say so.
