According to some, the Islamic extremists using terrorism as a strategy hate us because they envy our freedoms? How does this make any logical sense? They may hate us for their perception of the impurity of our society, for partnering with repressive right-wing Arab regimes, for supporting Israel, and any number of grievances, but envy our freedoms?

They view us as the great evil in the world, narcissistic, nihilistic and bascially immoral.

What is really funny about how the liberals/socialists/democrats want to find out why they hate us and talk our way to peace is that the primary reason islamic fundamentalists hate us is because of liberalism and the liberal philosophy creeping incrementally into our culture.

The apostasy of the left will get them beheaded a lot quicker than someone who believes in a god.

Well, you're right. As a matter of fact, I have never heard these "extremists" use "envy of our freedoms" as an excuse for any attacks. Anything I have heard on AL-jazeera network, or from Hezbollah, or Hamas , or Iran or Al-quaeda, has been purely a retaliation from our foreign policy-period. Where did "envy our freedom" come from? Oh yeah' George W. Bush.

They do not hate our freedoms. This is a common rumor spread by the govt. It is simply not true and should be ignored. They just want to be independent of us. They hate that we support their enemy, Israel. And they also are deeply angry with our current foreign policy. About our societal and domestic issues, they could not possibly care less.

the word is not envy, it's fear. They fear our freedom, to think, to worship,to live our lives as we choose. This is what they fear will spread across the middle east.

sure they envy freedom and our wealth. but that is not why they attack us. they attack us because they hate what we do to them and how we help their enemies.
Bush boys cannot admit the true reasons so they make up pretend reasons.
