I have low pressure from the hot water tap in my kitchen. The hot water tap in my bathroom is fine as are both cold water taps. The immersion heater, water tank and bathroom are all downstairs. How do I find and check any valves etc

Cold water taps are not really relevant as certainly the kitchen, and maybe the bath cold are fed from the mains. Either way, as you say, they are ok. The hot to the bath will be 22mm pipe, 15mm to the kitchen hot, although it may be teed off a 22mm pipe somewhere. Depending how old the kitchen taps are limescale may have built up in the hot tap/pipe, reducing the flow. The tap washer may not be lifting properly if it has deteriorated, or the housing is thick with limescale, when you open the tap. It's also possible that some debris in the hot water system has found it's way to the hot tap in kitchen, reducing the flow. You'll need to turn off the gatevalve supplying the cold water to the hotwater cylinder and open the hot tap in the kitchen untill it stops flowing, then remove the tap head to inspect the washer/seating/housing. You can buy replacement tap heads for most taps so that you don't have to replace the whole tap if need be.

There is a little gizmo on top of your hot water tank called a pressure regulator valve. It costs about $75 dollars to buy that .The you have to add labor . Most plumbers did not put those on 10-30 yrs ago and if you have an old tank, that is the reason for no water pressure in your kitchen You may have done renos and extra bathrooms or more people using the water but the initial hardware remained the same.
Check that.

wow... check your stop under the sink ( supply valve & line ) & maybe disassemble faucet & run a little water out, while dissassembled! if you only have pressure probs @ this sink, then most likely the problem is here too! these are things that would affect only this sink!

only replace your temp & pressure relief if leaking or, you test & it won't reset!
