At the moment helium is the 2nd most abundant, but in about 3-4 billion years' time when most of the hydrogen has been fused to make helium, helium will then become the most abundant,

Later still, the sun will then fuse helium to make carbon, oxygen and other elements (up to lead) as it turns into a red giant star for about 100 million years
