I've suffered with Migraine for about thirty years. There used to be a medication called midrid which never failed to stop my migraines but the drug company decided they weren't making enough money from it and stopped manufacture. I've tried Zomig and didn't find it too effective. I'm currently using Naramig which is another of the Sumtriptins (as is Zomig) but this seems to be working provided you detect the onset and take the pill early enough

Yes, I've used Zomig, 10 mg.
The 5 mg didn't do it for me, but the 10 mg did.
It surely got rid of the headache but the side effects were a bit to deal with. Lots of nausea and the like. It was worth dealing with the side effects to get rid of the extreme headache pain I was realizing. If you have extreme headache pain like it did, then it is worth trying.
I wouldn't take Zomig lightly though. Be sure you really need it before you take it. Definitely try the 5 mg first before you go to the 10mg.
Hope this helps some.

All new medication you use for the first time is effective and work well for a while until your body gets used to it, then you hope that something new has been brought out.
Personally I used to suffer terribly, but around 8 years ago I stopped taking any medication at all, nothing not even an aspirin. And for the last five years I haven't had a single attack, even back pain and other grumbles have gone.
But please understand that I'm not on any prescribed medication and that this worked for me.
You could also try.
Find a nice quiet dark place where it is quiet and try to sleep it off.

I suffer from migraines and have to say i have tried numerous meds that never seemed to help.
After being diagnosed with migraine from a specialist, I was prescribed a drug called Almotriptan (group name of these type of drugs are called 'Triptans'). I take it when I start to get symptoms, and it stops my migraines from developing.
Have a look on the internet on how Triptans work, go on a reputable site like the british national formulary.
Its great, but only available on prescription, my advice to you is see your GP and see what he thinks.
Over the counter meds are rubbish for migraine as they only treat the symptoms and not the cause, whereas triptans treat the cause........(you will see when you look it up)
Good luck.

imitrex was the leader in this class, zomig is good too, these are abortive medicines. you can try excedrin migraine too. if you get too many migraines then consider amitriptyline for prophylaxis, good luck

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
