The big high school football states, in no particular order, are Texas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. The best conference, though, is neither a southern or a western one. The Big Ten is far and away the conference with the overall best teams, the highest academic rankings, and the superior standards of conduct and sportsmanship. Believe it or not, team members (in Ann Arbor and Madison especially) often balance a rigorous class schedule in demanding majors, with their sports commitments.
