To Divide Fractions:

Invert (i.e. turn over) the denominator fraction and multiply the fractions
Multiply the numerators of the fractions
Multiply the denominators of the fractions
Place the product of the numerators over the product of the denominators
Simplify the Fraction
Example: Divide 2/9 and 3/12

Invert the denominator fraction and multiply (2/9 ÷ 3/12 = 2/9 * 12/3)
Multiply the numerators (2*12=24)
Multiply the denominators (9*3=27)
Place the product of the numerators over the product of the denominators (24/27)
Simplify the Fraction (24/27 = 8/9)

The Easy Way. After inverting, it is often simplest to "cancel" before doing the multiplication. Cancelling is dividing one factor of the numerator and one factor of the denominator by the same number.
For example: 2/9 ÷ 3/12 = 2/9*12/3 = (2*12)/(9*3) = (2*4)/(3*3) = 8/9

You take the second fraction, of the quotiant (the things being / doing the dividing) and switch the denominator and the numerator (i think thats what they're called). After all that, just multiply accross
Example:
1/2 (divided by) 2/3 = ?
1/2 (times) 3/2 = ?
1 times 3 = 3
2 times 2 = 4
So your answer should be "3/4"

Flip them over then multiply. Examples:

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

5/6 divided by 2/3 =

5/6 times 3/2

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

75 divided by 3/4 =

75 times 4/3

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Hope that helps

Here's a little trick I learned to divide fractions...

Keep...Change...Take the reciprocal...

Ex-- (2/3)/(5/6)

Keep the 1st term...Change the sign...and then take the reciprocal of the 2nd term (or invert it)...

So it becomes:

(2/3) x (6/5)

And then just multiply across like you would normally:

(2/3) x (6/5) = 12/15 = 4/5

I used to sing this little trick as a song during an exam..It really helped...Good luck!!

if the problem is 9/9 divided 3/3 the answer would be 3/3 because if u divide 9 and 3( the 2 top numbers ) which equals 3 and do it again accept with the bottom numbers

Keep change flip is how I was taught...Y ou keep the first fraction the same change the division sign to multiplication and flip the last fraction . In other words make your denominator the numerator and your numerator your denominator.
