Sea foods, including kelp... most contain good amounts of iodine.

Even without insurance medicines for thyroid problems relatively very cheap. You'll have an easier time taking them rather than thinking of what kind of food you can take to help you with your problem.

For peace of mind I suggest you see a endoctrinologist, a doctor that is specialized in body glands.

In my case i was on medication for four years but it became worse so had a partial removal. Then after 14 years went for the RAI or radioactive iodine intake treatment which completely removed my thyroid glands. Now on daily maintenance pill which in my country cost without insurance 0.20 cents per tablet.

Foods containing iodine may help.
You can also, at the health food store, buy dessicated bovine thyroid gland. This may help if taken as directed.
Have you been diagnosed hypothyroid? If so, whoever diagnosed you should prescribe thyroid hormone, and this medicine is very inexpensive. They will keep renewing it forever too, because it is assumed that once you are hypothyroid, you will always be.
