Nothing but luck. The superstition is that you pass under the ladder going all the way through. With the clover you could just reach in and have good luck.

you would jump up thinking cool some good luck at last you will be looking at the four leave clover and walk straight into the ladder and knock your self out not so liucky aye

It balances out,. You can walk under the ladder, but only if you pick up the four-leaf clover.
While bending down to pick it up, please be careful not to make the ladder move. Accidents happen so quickly.
