I have a cousin who is really socail and funny and everyone likes, and he plays lacrosse and is always talking to his friends online or on the phone. I have friends, but I want to make more and be able to talk to more people, but I don't have the confidence to. I'm joining a lacrosse team with one of my friends, but I want to make more friends and know more of the team, not just her.

I know that it's a good idea to join a club, but I'm too shy to talk to the people there and I don't know how to act because everyone already has their friends in it.

it was smart to join a team
eventually you will know the people well and you'll have fun. invite them all to a party and play some games like two truths and a lie. Or invite one at a time over after talking to them a little in practice. you just gotta gather up some courage. you can do it.

in the end you'll be very happy you made friends and you will probably end up being less shy. Also, you'll feel more social, which, mentally is very healthy.

good luck

The answer to this problem is to talk, talk, talk! At school, look for a person your age. Get near where he/she is, and talk to her. It doesn't matter if it's about yesterday's soccer game or how unfair is sometimes the math teacher. You could even get to know some things about your classmates that you didn't knew!
Out of school, you can join a club or two. Do you wanna paint? Go to an art class or club, if there's any. About the lacrosse team, look for any girls, and talk to them. Or, you can invite some girls from the lacrosse team, including your friend, to a sleepover at your place. That way, you and your friend can meet more people.

Its great you want to make more friends but don't let that be what defines who you are. It doesn't matter how many friends you have, what matter is who you choose to associate your self with. There is nothing wrong with having a few close friends that are true friends. In alot of ways thats better than having lots of friends that you never really trust.

Join a club or sprot that your interested in. It doesnt have to be in school. If you like animals, you could join your local 4-h. If you are an A+ math kid, join the mathletes. Stuff like that.
