I believe that the population has the same percentage of GLBT in all parts of the world, because it is predisposed and people are born with the preference rather than choosing a certain way of relating to men or women.
However I am sure that certain populations are much more tolerant than others, and in fact the US is incredibly intolerant of expressions of affection especially between men. So you might want to look for countries where the culture is accepting of open affection between gender, regardless of the nature of sexual preference.
In Europe, men often hold hands, for example. In South America, women are demonstrative with their feelings and are very expressive with hugs and kisses among friends. I tend to be a very warm and "touchy" person by US standards, but when in most South American countries I had to learn to be more expressive with kisses on both cheeks.
Many Asian countries like Japan are not even used to hugging family members and will rarely who affection to anyone in public. Other Asian cultures like SE Asia have learned to live in very close quarters and tend to be comfortable touching and hugging.
Hopefully you can find places to travel where people are not judging you for your sexuality, but I am sad to say that US in one of the most judging, in my opinion. I do believe it is important to become educated about any culure and how they relate physically. This is very private and personal and in this case, when in public, the rule should be to follow customs.
I remember greeting a very close friend when meeting him in Southern Japan. He was grateful to me for a big favor, and we both had reason to be affectionate; in US customs we would have greeted with a hug. I was so concerned about this and prepared to expect to bow, and he in turn practiced how to hug (a very new concept for him). When he met, I bowed and he reached out for a hug.
How funny that was.
How when I visit friends in Japan we most often shake hands as we bow at the same time.
I hope you the best, and it is my wish that you are never exposed to homophobic people.

Best to find out local attitudes not numbers. Iran could have the highest number of homos, but they'll never admit it. They have a LOW tolerancy for gays so just don't go.
Watch out for Caribbean nations and S. American and African nations - openly gay will get you hurt.
In Europe you're more apt to get away with PDA's. In the Bahamas they protest gay cruise ships and it is a hatred that brings the community together. You wont' get beat down...if you don't make out with your lover or make reference ot your sexuality...get it.
Sorry, it sucks to be gay in most of the world.
