My laptop doesn't have a firewire plug.

If you haven't open the package, why don't you return it to where you it from and buy a USB cable?

Well since you have a laptop it will be easy, but will cost you about 30 to 50 bucks. Ok so there should be a slot on the side of your laptop, right? you can buy a firewire card that goes into that slot.

Firewire is WAYYYYYY quicker. Connecting a USB to Firewire may well be a controversy, in spite of the undeniable fact that in view that there are lots of of cable converters around, that is available, in spite of the undeniable fact that, if the USB connecter remains USB a million, which will sluggish issues down. I truly have in no way seen a USB to firewire connector... form of defeats the purpose of firewire, in view that firewire is plenty quicker.
