I'm with misfit. The best costumes are always the ones that are opposite of your normal self.
Since you didn't list your age range, or give any idea, here are some general costumes:
Vampire
Pirate
Any uniform, i.e. army, navy, police, fireman, etc...
Caveman/Tarzan
Prince Charming
Period Costumes, i.e. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Viking, etc...
Gangster
Gunslinger
Any classic horror or monster costumes, i.e. Dracula, Frankenstein, mummy, etc...
Really, you can be anything you want. There is no limit to the possibilities if you are open to trying something new. Maybe browse around costume sites to get some ideas before you go shopping.

A bag of jelly beans. Its fun and cheap. Just get a bunch of the little balloons, blow them up and then make a plastic bag with plastic wrap or buy a clear big bag like a trash bag or something. get inside and make whole's for your arms, legs, and head. Put the balloons inside and tada your a bag of jelly beans

i was a dead catholic school girl once...i had a button down shirt, plaid skirt, fishnets and shoes......i also had a 3in fake cut on mu neck:).
