As long as the dose is not real high. Ace is a tranquilizer used in Animals. You know that giving a horse Ace needs to be done carefully so the horse does not take a fall and break something. If you are giving him a low dose, it will probably be alright. Make sure he does not get overheated and make sure he is offered water as well.

It is one word...acepromazine. It is a drug give to calm, but in some animals it can have the reverse effect and make them MORE anxious. If you are going to try it, do a test run first when no one will be getting ON the horse. It really does not solve problems, just masks them, so it is not a long term solution.
Always check with a vet before giving any medication like that though.

Ace Promazine is an animal tranquilizer.
It has some side effects that may not be a good thing.
It can make animals a little drunk. It can enlarge the spleen. It can reduce their inhibitions to acting aggressively. (the can be a 'mad drunk')
Unless this was prescribed for your horse, do not give it.
If it was, follow your vets directions exactly.

I don't think it will hurt him, but you're better off spending the money on having him trained to where you can enjoy a drug-free ride. Save the ace for desperate times :-) Be safe.

Acepromozine is a sedative that is used for medical treatment. Sedating your horses is not a replacement for training. Seek a trainer, FAST!

A drug free program of training and exercise would be far better.
