I've had my bunny since May and have yet to find a proper way for her to use the bathroom.
When I first got her, her bedding was laying some pink color bedding all over the cage.
But, then she started to become more comfortable and poop more, so I purchased something that looked like this http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:WI4BEik2z4y8BM:http://216.101.204.154/images and started putting "Yesterdays News" Bedding in it. But, her pee always seemed to get over the little box and leak all over the clean cage.
So, my second idea was this bunny proof (so she couldn't pick it up or push it) litter box shaped like a triangle. The pee didn't leak but it was difficult to remove when cleaning and she chewed half of it off so I got rid of that.
So now, I am laying "Yesterdays News" bedding all in the back of the cage and she takes care of her business in the back corners of the cage.
Is this good? Any alternatives? I wan't my bunny in best living conditions so she can live a pleasent life.

The triangle shaped litterboxes are best for bunnies because a bunny will back herself up as far against the wall of her "toilet" as she can before she pees. As a result, anything with a high back to it works very well to prevent the urine from escaping. The problem with plastic is that it is a tempting surface for bunnies to chew on, and if it's there, they will use it for a chew block. If you really want to give her an actual box in her cage, you can use them, you just have to keep replacing them from time to time. Otherwise, it really isn't necessary for inside her cage. Rabbits will choose one corner to use, all you have to do is keep that corner clean (I clean my rabbits' pee corners in the morning and at night--just scoop out the wet bedding and replace...it makes things much easier that way). You can even train her to use her cage as her litterbox for when she's out and about on her free runs. Hope that helps!

This is fine! It just might make cleaning a little more difficult for you, but as long as you clean it out daily, it's perfect.
My TJ (dwarf-mini rex mix) really doesn't like litterboxes, and so I just have a bunch of aspen wood shavings and hay in a corner of his cage. It's the only corner that he uses, and he keeps it all in one spot. I clean it every day in the morning, and whenever else needed, and add more bedding and hay.
You're doing a great job, keep it up!

I just use Kitty Litter, it sticks on the Bunny's feet a little because of the fur...but just use a kitty litter box and kitty litter. The clumpable kind. Also it is normal for rabbits to eat their poop. It contains nutrition.
