The heart is an involuntary muscle because you dont have to mentally tell it to contract and relax, it works all on its own, even during sleep and etc.

The heart is composed of cardiac muscle, cardiac muscle is involuntary.

the heart beats involuntarily. Some swamis in India are reported to be able to control the heart, but they do not consciously control it 100% of the time... otherwise they'd die. Like breathing.
