If you want people to take notice of our country again, yes. If you want the country in ruins again yes. If we look at it from people for and against it should be easy. Based on what happened under Maggie Thatcher, no. The country did not run very smoothly compared to what it could have been. Judging on the Germany as it is today, yes. Their female Chancellor has done a wonderful job and can run the country. She obviously got a book written by Ms Thatcher on how to run a country and how not to, but did it the other way around - result - an improving Germany.

Maggie "wasn't that bad"???! Tell that to the miners.
That "woman" single handedly destroyed the coal industry, the farming industry, the steel industry, and every public service and industry inbetween. If she didn't bleach her moustache, you'd swear she bore a strinking resemblence to HITLER.
It's about time that we had another female Prime Minister...ME! I'd soon whip this country into shape...
Under my rule, prisons would be just that - none of this 3 square meals a day, televisions, pool tables and gyms. If I want to watch tv I have to pay for a tv licence, I have to pay council tax, I have to pay for food and have to purchase a membership if I want to have use of gym facilities. Why bother with all of that when I can just mug some old lady and get everything for free? And don't even get me started on the fact that I could study for a degree for free whilst inside - whereas the rest of us mugs have to get into thousands of pounds worth of debt if we want a better education.
I'd make education more applicable to everyday life, teach children how to cook nutritious meals and budget effectively, teach practical diy skills, interviewing techniques, how to apply for a mortgage, what effect your credit history has on your life, how to be a good parent etc etc instead of what the currency is in Lithuania.
Human rights would be there to protect victims not criminals.
Employers would be forced to pay a decent wage that doesn't have to be subsidised by the Government (and ultimately the tax payer) via Family tax credit schemes.
I'd force utilities companies to either lower their prices or increase people's wages so that they can afford to use their heating in winter (ever noticed that the utilities bills keep on going up and up but our income doesn't? How are we expected to keep up?)
I'd stop looking after everyone and their uncle in other countries and begin charity at home - once we have our own house in order we can look at helping others. Whilst we are still seeing people living on the streets and children in care homes we need to stop focusing on abroad and deal with our own issues first. Only then can we truly be in a position to devote our time and money into helping others.
I'd bring back the matrons on the hospital wards and make public services public again instead of contracting everything out to the private sectors.
I'd stick to my manifesto once elected and not conveniently "forget" to do everything I've promised in order to secure votes.
Vote Woo for Prime Minister!

Thatcher made thousands of people enemployed and destroyed British industry. She led us into a pointless war for patriotic reasons (she withdrew the navy support from the faulklands, making it VERY tempting for Argentina). She almost killed the NHS, and almost all other public services (British rail for instance). She antagonised the IRA, making the troubles significantly worse.
Aside from that any women, regardless of political party unless she stood up for what she believed in, and didn't pander to spin doctors and a perceived "interest group" of voters would be just as inept as Blair, Brown, Cameron and Campbell would be.

Yes of course we should, in the same context as should we have another man prime minister.A prime minister should be chosen because they have the right `qualifications` ability and sense of duty to the country. Whether they are male or female is beside the point.

Let's get this straight. Margaret Thatcher was not a woman. She was more like the fat bird in Total Recall with Arnie hidden inside.
No wonder Dennis drank so much.
"This lady is not for turning" Thank God for that, the back of you is repulsive enough.

women do a much better job at organizing, put things on paper, following up on new laws , and making sure that we have a good breakfast each and every morning.
Men attempt shaving each morning while half asleep, drive in a car that we forgot to fill up with petro the night before, have really bad gas from the night before last's italian dinner, and when we make it to work, we grab the first coffee of the morning and wake up at noon.
