Is it two stroke?
Clean the carburator, check the gas/oil mixture, clean (or change if needed) sparkplug, clean air filters.
Check if there is something plug to exaust system, make sure to use not old gas.

My guess is the fuel system is gummed up. Either the carburator is gummed up or the fuel filter might be clogged. Also as someone previously stated make sure the choke is in the full open position after it's warmed up.

will it run if you pour some gas/oil through the spark plug hole? If it does, you either have carb problems or the exhaust pipe might be plugged.
