I had a seatmate who I swear hadn't showered in months. He was also overly friendly and rather touchy feely and then he fell asleep leaning against me. It was the longest five hours of my life!! Also, we hit a lightning storm and I almost peed myself. ;-)

Flew back from Europe this summer out of Amsterdam. About 45 seconds into the flight there was a very loud bang and followed immediately by a flash of light that grew to fill the cabinet. None of the airline people said anything. The passengers sat still for a few minutes then began to whisper about what had happened.

Ten minutes later the pilot came o the intercom and said " You may have noticed that were struck by lightening. But we have checked out overeating and we think everything is ok, so we are going on."

You think everything is OK!!!

When the plane I was on was coming in for a landing at Nashville's airport, then at about 20 ft before hitting the runway, the nose lurched about 20 degree high and the pilots hit the throttle full speed.

It was an aborted landing. VERY scary. I would not suggest it, not even for a Disney thrill ride.

I was under arrest by the federal marshalls, the bureau of prisons and the justice department on a transport plane flying from seattle to south california: as we were flying over mt. st. helens i gazed out thre window and in the middle of winter the crater was full of water, frozen and opaque except for the center where the thermal vents had melted the ice and it looked like a gigantic eyeball staring up at me; I was petrified and glanced only once and couldn't look back.

on my first airplane trip ever, to mexico, on the way back to canada we were travelling in a jet stream. When we arrived back in canadian air, the pilot told us that the ride would be a bit bumpy while he gets out of the jet stream.

It felt like the plane was about to crash. was scary as heck.

Flying alone when I was only ten years old. I flew from Kentucky to Oklahoma on a non-stop flight. It was exciting and scary. But luckily the stewardess was really nice and sat with me. We had a really good conversation. I can't remember what it was about.
