They must be earning their keep, considering the millions of dollars their records and movies bring in.Their concerts are usually sold out. Seem to me "we" the general public are supporting them.

You are very sympathetic but you must understand that the greatest things in life are for free and if we pay the teachers, doctors, fireman,.... etc. more we will be the one loosing out because they would need a higher level of education and retire young and rich. And every day we would be needing more and more workers and the money value will fall because too much people is either too rich or too poor and that can destroy a community or even a country. Things like this you really have to think about because not all of these people want to be rich but all they want is to do there jobs. If you got any more question for me you can reach me @buffaah@yahoo.com.

Well, you're not quite right...teachers do not get paid a minimal wage...(unless you have to pay London prices for everything).
Living in the north, I earn just under £40k a year...not so bad!
I digress, your point is sound anyway - a celebrity obsessed culture (how ironic, we don't get any culture anymore) gets what it deserves I suppose.
Blame the Jerry Springer generation and the chavs that participate in it....

You get paid according to the amount of money you bring in.
Celebrities bring in billions of dollars for their employers, have to deal with the paparazzi stalking their every move, have to deal with being under constant scrutiny, and often have to make sacrifices for their job.
If you want your policemen, firemen, and teachers to make more money, vote to increase their wages. Speak out with a plan. Simply complaining about it to a group of people who don't understand the complexity of the issue and will jump on any bandwagon as long as it bashes celebrities or politicians won't really accomplish anything.
As far as nurses and doctors; they make the wage that they have worked for. Highly paid expert physicians in their field can make millions of dollars a year, depending on the market they are employed in. Of course an orthopod in BFE Alaska will not make as much as one in LA, but that's where the doctor choose to work. I reguarly see ads for jobs wanting experienced well trained nurses that pay $65K+. While that's not even close to what Brad Pitt makes, it's not exactly a wage that someone would have to struggle to survive on.
If you don't want celebrities to get paid what they do get paid, then don't support their industry. Don't rent movies, don't go to the movies, don't buy from companies that use celebrity endorsers (T-Mobile, Hanes, Pepsi, Lancome, Revlon, GM, Pizza Hut, etc), don't watch sports or buy sports paraphanalia (hats, jerseys, event tickets, etc), you get the idea. Bashing celebrities for making a percentage of the money that WE pay them is hypocritical. They earn their keep by getting us to take our money and pay the people who employ them. Since when is that not earning their keep?

The world is unfair & we're all here to be screwed. All the above are Government workers, so that should tell you why they're underpaid. The celebrities sometimes do a lot for charities, so they don't always keep what they earn, & also have staff to pay for. Hope this makes you feel better about yourself.

There is something rotten in the Western system, especially if you consider the fact that Penis and Hitlery Clinton, the disgusting butchers of the Balkans, are paid millions for their books describing their "holy struggle" (unlike nurses etc. who help and save people and get paid a minimal wage).

None or the above get paid 5.15 an hour. Celebrates only get paid the big bucks if others pay to see them. Blame all of the minimum wagers for supporting movies, ball games and such.

Don't include fire "fighters" ( or firemen as they used to be called, before the days of political correctness) . Okay they do a valuable job but so do many other council employees, i.e., dustmen etc. They are a bunch of self-righteous prima donnas who like to lecture us about safety. Now that nobody fries chips anymore , and with all the new fire retardant fabrics we seldom need them.
Firemen tend to play on the public's sympathy. I was once approached by a bunch of fire "fighters" who were going to walk along the Great wall of China for charity. Further enquiry revealed that the money raised would actually be paying for their air fares, food and accommodation- any money left over being given to charity.

i've never looked at it that way. That's a very good question. without tachers, nurses, police, firefighters, and etc many lives would be lost and people would be uneducated but celebrities get payed millions of dollars and do nothing except cause problems.
