No. Humans and apes originated from a common ancestor but recent finds have given very strong evidence to the theory that they evolved down separate evolutionary pathways.

Not quite. According to the most recent anthropological and archeological evidence, humans and apes had a common ancestor dating back several million years. It was a matter of that divergence that has allowd for the differences between the various primates, but still has humans and the great apes sharing nearly 99% of their DNA.

The theory of evolution is that mankind over millions of years evolved from apes. Occasionally, there are some that look like they're going the wrong way and devolving - look at George W. Bush!!!

I will grant sir, that you may have come from an Ape.
I will even consider that I may have descended from an ape.
But I challenge you sir, to speculate that General Robert E. Lee is descended from an ape.

Modern apes and humans have common ancestors...
Significant number of us humans think that is not true.
My opinion is that new archaeological finds and genetic research, will clear that up, once for good!!!
