Put three toothpicks in the seed equally spaced so you can set it in top of a juice glass with the pointed end down. Put enough water in the glass to submerge the bottom half of the seed and stand back and wait. Add water if you have too over time.

collage kid is absolutely correct. but an avocado seed takes a LONG time to sprout. if you want it to be bushy with a better root, then pinch back the new sprouts from the main sprout. also there a 2 types of avocados and one grows better than the other- sorry i don't remember which one. and if you grow 2 at a time and 'twine' them together as they grow you have a nicer house plant :-)

very easy, after you remove it from the flesh, just sit it somewhere and let it dry for a few days, then just pot it up
in good potting soil, water well and in notime you will see
a sprout I planted 8 seeds this summer and 7 have come
up and are about 2 feet tall
you do not have to root them in water as stated elsewhere, that was the old timey way to do it

done it loads of times you need heat ive grown loads in africa where it was hot so suggest a heated green house best of luck
