Ok...
If you're going to have a mixed family, you'll more likely have kids in different shades; seeing as black folks come in different shades. Your kids' father's family more likely have members ranging from light to dark-skinned. It's genetics and you should have expected it; all of your kids won't be one skin tone.

Its simply a matter of genetic roulette - like why some kids have blue eyes vs brown or some kids turn out to be taller than the rest of the family. This is not a big deal and it's just the way they are.

that can happen i guess im sure its embarassing for u and ppl might assume that they have different fathers which can be quite insulting to ur relationship with ur husband......dont worry so much about it maybe he get more of the dark gene..whichever parent is darker must have had the predominate gene in the pregnancy....i noticed my friends daughter who is half white and half black was light when she was born and got darker as she got older......maybe the youngest will become darker with age too!

Your oldest is probebly taking after the darker one of you and thier dad. My boy is 10 and his dad is Philipeno. I am caucasion with red/brown hair. When my boy was born, he was fair skinned and blond hair (at one year). His skin is much darker now and his hair is a medium brown. Your youngest may grow darker as he gets older.

that question is not only occur in you. you should consider first the race of your family in both side and the race of your husband's family in both sides, too. because the gene reflects from the very old generation to the newest generation. maybe some of the great, great parents both sides has the blood of hispanic.E ven though they were far related to you, or to your husband, it still reflect to your childrens or grandchildrens.

Obviously he has more genes with your coloring. Even if children are not bi-racial, they can look completly different from each other. My son has blue eyes and my daughter has brown, same concept.
