Canned tuna has high levels of mercury, and mercury IS secreted in breast milk. It is best to avoid tuna, but if you can't avoid eating it, at least limit your consumption to 1 can per week.

Congratulations on continuing to breastfeed your baby. You're giving your baby the best start possible by doing so!

Its fine to eat. I wouldn't eat the alborcore tuna because it has higher amounts of mercury in it. Otherwise you will be fine!

Tuna is good for you anyway. Did you know its a stress relieving food? It's good to eat for lunch!

Bad idea regardless of what type of fish...mercury levels. Take the herb Fenugreek to increase lactation by 40% (all 33 mammary glands in each breast will gorge with milk) and leave you smelling syrupy sweet Once every couple of weeks should be no harm though-Tuna.

WI MOM, good answer-actually, alot of people don't know this but legumes, especially peanuts, have alot of carcinogens in them. (besides the allergy dealio)-so does anything with nitrites in it-also black pepper.

It is only fresh tuna that pregnant women need to be concerned about - and have only once a week. This doesn't include canned tuna.

I wouldn't. Too much mercury and an increased risk of food allergy (this includes not eating fish, shellfish, peanuts and treenuts).

Go ahead and eat it. I think you can eat a can a week. Don't eat albacore, swordfish, shark, etc. There are high levels of mercury in those fish.
