The universe is not parallel to anything. There could be "parallel" universes though.

As for the universe itself, it could either be flat, which doesn'tmake a lot of sense to me, or it could be round much like the Earth. Which means that in theory, if you start in one place and go forward in any direction, you'll eventually come back to that place.
