Nice Idea. Yes you can do it. The easy way would be to locate a 88 or 89 Chrysler Lebaron and pull the PCM, wire harness, head, turbo assembly, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and (If it has it) Intercooler. You will need all these things to make the conversion a success. You will need to plane the block and the head (best to just have the head rebuilt) to make a good mating surface for the head. DO NOT REUSE THE HEAD BOLTS FROM EITHER MOTOR. Get new head bolts and use the High performance head gasket kit from Mopar. The factory head gaskets are crap and will guaranty a blown head the first time to put your foot in to it. As Far as the compression you should be ok. There was only a 1 compression difference in the two motors. The big concern that I would have is the transmission. If it's an automatic you may want to put the transmission in it from the Lebaron you get the head and stuff from. If it's a stick I would put a better clutch in it. Other then that you should be good to go. It will be a fast little runner and make for nice speeding tickets. The Omni where only 1600 lbs and had 97 HP on the little motors that came with them. You put a turbo in to it you'll be pushing close to 160 HP. that will make it move really well... (HP Ratings are at the Wheel not motor.) There are a lot of sources out on the web to help you with the conversion so research and found out what extras you may need. But I hit all of the big stuff.

there is alot extra to it except mounting the fast and plumbing it to the exhaust and intake. There are inter coolers to guage besides as reducing the compression ratio on the engine so that you do not blow the heads sky severe at the same time as the improve hits it. reducing the compression ratio includes diverse pistons. it is very nearly a finished tear down of the engine. If I were you i might want to locate a crashed 95 eclipse with a short engine and turn them out. remember to get the crashed vehicles computer besides.

Unless you use an aftermarket turbo, you shouldn't because turbo engines are normally lower compression
