The question is not "Can he stop being gay." but "Can you love him enough not to care if he's gay or not?"

If he's only attracted to men, then by definition he's gay. It doesn't sound like it's a problem for him. You'll have to decide if it's a problem for you.
No, he can't stop being gay. Our sexual orientation is fixed before we reach puberty, and cannot be altered, regardless of the junk science that right wing Christians put out.
