I ask the question why tax income because it seems collection of income taxes is inefficent method of getting revuene for the goverment. It penalizes savings with Income taxes, and allow accounts and lawyers to create looppoles for people to avoid paying taxes. With income taxes we have 130 million taxpayers, and with consumption tax you have 8 million business to collect the taxes and enforce the law. Also, provide tax rebates to the lowest of income earners thru cash transfers, and income credits to bring income above the poverty level for fulltime workers.

It seems that almost any form of taxation is better than what we have now. There are too many big money people with vested interests in the current tax system to get it changed. Most of the business of Accounting firms of all types would be lost. There is an army of attorneys making a living off the tax code. They would be completely out of business.
Congress would be the big loser if income tax were eliminated. It has become the favorite play toy of both Houses. They are always rewriting, changing, adding to the tax codes, when it suit their interest to do so. How you gonna change all of that?

And how do you decide who a low-earner is? By an income tax return, more or less! It would cost more to administer. The alternative is no rebates which should be socially unacceptable to most citizens.

What ought to bypass alongside with it somewhat is a regulation prohibiting the government from enticing in deficit spending. that ought to point that for politicians to get extra money to play with they could ought to do despite develop into had to enhance the financial device. it may additionally advise that in the event that they did something to cut back financial interest the end result could be much less gross sales to the government. great theory doncha think of?
