Good question. What age brings is experience, and that experience can cause either a conservative or liberal bent. For example, if you witness abuses of government and corporations, you likely will be more "liberal." If you have become well off you may become more conservative in the hope of "conserving" the status quo and your wealth.
Personally, after witnessing numerous administrations, I have become socially and environmentally more liberal, but fiscally more conservative. Being married and having children has little to do with these positions.
The strongest impact of aging is to be more skeptical of those who seek to manipulate our views.

I think many become more conservative as they get older. As they get older....a person's reflects slow down (while driving)...eye sight isn't as good etc. So they tend to try and take things slowly so they can still do them accurately. If they have children, they become more conservative because their body tells them that their one most important task in life is to keep their children healthy, happy and alive. They tend to think that by being conservative and encouraging their children to be conservative they may accomplish this better.
I think maybe as their children are grown and on their own, a lot of people may go through their second childhood. At that point a person has less stress of worrying about their children...and they also know that their time is limited. Because of this....a person can become less worried about preservation and the future (and also of what people think)...and more interested in living the time left to the fullest.
Of course...all of this depends on the circumstances and the person...this is just a theory I have that some may feel.....

I've grown up to be more liberal.
I used to feel gay marriage was a sin against God, then I realized not everyone has the same God as I do.
I used to be more rigid in thought, now Im more willing to empathize with the other sides situation and try to understand it.
Im 26 with no kids and Im not married because I dont believe in marriage, but am in a long term relationship and live in CT,and have for almost 20 years, with brief stops in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and Canada.

I've always been socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I have noticed me being a bit more conservative since my daughter came around, but I'd say I'm still fairly liberal.

BTW...I was more conservative when I was a younger man.

there's a distinction between being socially liberal/conservative and fiscally liberal/conservative. youthful human beings have a tendency to change into extra fiscally conservative at the same time as they age because at the same time as youthful human beings make extra income, they initiate to sense the load of taxes. notwithstanding i don't think of youthful human beings as we talk turns into extra socially conservative. That has to do extra with each and every technology and the era they grew up in throughout their early life. I have a tendency to locate the youngsters of the Silent technology to be extra conservative at the same time as the child boomers have a tendency to have a huge decision from the hippie liberals to the further classic conservatives. and that i detect the youngsters that grew up in the course of the Reagan era to be extra conservative. the present technology that grew up between the Clinton and Bush presidency is maximum likely the most socially liberal technology ever. i do not see this kind replacing as we enter this extra globalized international.

it kind of goes in a cycle..

13-18 You usually start off Conservative (Prepubescent - When you listen to you parents stereotypes and opinions - aka shiraz)

18-35 Then in your college years you become Liberal (because you start to believe everyone is equal because of your exposure to different people/lifestyles/cultures)

35-60 Then you become Conservative (because you want to "protect" your children from different people)

60- death You tend to become Liberal because you can't afford your prescription medication and you feel the government should just stay the hell out of people's lives and stop catering to the corporations.

That depends. I have 1 child, a son, and Im only 19. Before i got pregnant I was a crazy party girl. I used to get wrecked every day. But now I never drink, or smoke, or anything pretty much. But its cool cuz i know i have a responsibility now. However I know plenty of people who are parents and are completely out of control still. so i guess it all depends on your personality
