From medium to High RPM, your alternator supplyes the energy needs.
Power steering and brakes are mechanical systems, so it works as soon as the engine is running.

Start the vehicle!! You can start your car and take the batery out. If your alternator is working fine the car will keep on keepin on. Thats actually how you test if you have a bad alternator. start the car and pull the positive connection off you battery, if the car dies you need new alternator.
