i havent taken anything apart except unplugged the auto dimmer. Having trouble getting to the button so i can reglue it to the windshield

i havent taken anything apart except unplugged the auto dimmer. Having trouble getting to the button so i can reglue it to the windshield, how do you get the mirror housing off

on the upper corner there will be a small square hole you will to get a very small spade screwdriver and slide it in to the hole it will release a wedge that is holding it in place then when you get this wedge pryed up then get a small screwdriver between the botton and the mirror body and pry a little bit and you will see it move than you should be able to get it off and reglue it hope this helps <<<<<<>>>>k.c.!!!!

I am sorry some people cannot answer a question without being an s-hole. What you should do is to take the mirror and the car to an automotive glass shop and have them put the mirror back on. They will warranty the work if it falls off again, and you don't have to worry about it. They usually will give you free coffee and donuts while you wait. Or, if you really like abuse, find some guy that has 46 years of pullin wrenches(I don't recommend it though) :) .

the button is glue to the windshield.there is no screw for it. there is a screw(allen type) that hold the mirror housing to the button.
