I hope not either.

If it's just a piece of paper, then what's the big deal? I think the big deal is the legal commitment one makes when you decide to marry.
I've lived with two men; one arrangement lasted all of three months, the other one has lasted seven years, six and a half of which were married years. Speaking for myself, I looked a my first live-in situation as a commitment with an escape hatch. When my husband moved in with me I made it clear that we weren't going to just shack up.
People nowadays are treated like they're disposable and easily gotten rid of. They don't think hard enough about getting involved with someone, they don't want to commit to working things out and they always look for the quickest, least painful exit. In that regard, marriage may be dying out.

*Marriage is niether dying out or becoming a thing of the past. We are marrying later in life but I think that to be a good thing. Marriage is a covenant created and ordained by God to benefit man and woman, their children and society. Done correctly and entered into with the seriousness and grace it deserves as well as the maturity it requires - it does just that;benefits and enriches the lives of all those involved.

It's starting to die out but I hope marriage makes a comeback. It's more than a piece of paper; it's a committment a woman and a man make to be together until death parts them both.
In my opinion, I don't believe in co-habitation partially because it leaves the couple to have sex outside of marriage. Plus, it also cheapens the relationship.

No marriage is still popular, but not church weddings these days, marriage is much more than a piece of paper to me, its about commitment, much rather be married than just live over the brush and make assumptions.

I wonder about this a lot. My prediction is: in a few hundred years, there will be no more marriage as we know it. Then, the ideology of it will cycle between this (no marriage), then a period of complete hedonism, then back again to arranged marriages for practical purposes and so on. Also, with all of the new ways to have/raise children and more equality in the work force, do we really need marriage for anything?

Definitely not - marriage is still sacred although there are alot of people reducing it to nothing, celebrities in particular who get married and divorced so quickly it doesn't seem worth the effort in the first place.

Its just a piece of paper that costs a fortune to rip up. I don't agree with marriage entirely but the wife does. She wouldnt have a kid until we got married. Makes sense for that reason.

Yes it seems like everyone is getting divorced and doens't care about true relationships anymore. There is always cheating and unfaithfulness and lying. But when u are two people who are of God, u will not be going throguh that problem and if u are God if u ask Him to, will help ur relationship with that person.

Its because more and more society is conforming to fit peoples false securities, they think they know what is best, and don't listen to what The Lord tells us, satan takes more of a hold on society, more and more, we need to stand up, and denounce these things, our only protection is from God, and the more we push him away, the worse things will get.
