It is the program in Windows that connects your computer to the services offered. Try this and see if you should delete it.
hit Ctrl-Shift-Esc. When Task Manager comes up, click on Processes, and scroll down the list until you find Svchost.exe, click on it and go to the bottom of the pane and click End Process. There will be several instances of it running and some will only disable parts of your computer. When the message comes up about what will happen if you terminate a process, just tell it you don't care and End the process.
Now look what you have done. You're gonna hafta reboot now, 'cause your computer won't work without svchost.exe.
