Try the LOOT newspaper which is available in dfferent areas. I'm sure you can buy one in Chesterfield. Also you are looking to loan a horse at the most expensive time of year and with less time for riding possibly due to the weather.
The LOOT may have a website

Horses For Loan In Chesterfield

I'm not sure where the Cambridgeshire Area is..but a few suggestions are..if their is an outfitter business around check with them. They lease horses for about 100.00 a month. They even lease them with tack for around 150.00. My other suggestion would be to call some stables. Sometimes you can find people that need help with their horse, such as exercising it, grooming it etc..talk with the people at the stable they very well may know other people who are looking for help. Good Luck

its best to get one from someone that you know as there is a lot of rogues out there, also as someone said this is the most expensive time of year to keep a horse, look into it carefully and be realistic with your riding abilities, the worse thing is for you te get a horse that is beyond your level. also have it vetted and draw up a loan agreement which you can download from your horse magazine. good luck!

there a few places i suggest looking:
newspaper (but be careful at checkign the horse out)
the internet (be even MORE careful)
the local saddlerys like said below
talk to horse owners/trainers, see what the have to say about horses around
a boarding/ lesson stable
go to a show, there are often horses for sale and lease there, and you can see what they can do, but if you decide you want to lease one, ride it yourself first.
