In the real world of off-roading it's 70% rider and 30% bike. Even then, proper set up & maintaince is paramount to getting the most from the bike.
By the tone and wording of your question you appear to be a rank and file newbie. Top speed means *nothing* in off-roading. Expert class desert racers and spodes riding dirt bikes on the street are the only ones that ever see the wide open in high gear.
Being new to the sport is great. The more the merrier! But a pure race bike is going to be to much for you and could cause you more set backs than any advantages they have over play bikes in the beginning.
Look for used XR's, TTR's, DR's, whatever. Learn the basics and then move on to race bikes.
Good luck!

yAlmost all the bikes will be the same, The Cr85 also has the Cr85 expert which is more of a race version. Also, Yamaha has always put out fast bikes alone with Kawasaki. I would recommend the Cr85 expert or the YZ85.

It's a motocrosser - top speed means nothing.
All the current 85cc models are highly competitive machines. Some are more forgiving than others - and are better suited to a beginning rider.
Since the manufacturers make changes to the models every year, and you don't mention if you're looking at new or used, I can't tell you which one will suit you best.
Have your mom or dad pick up a Dirt Bike annual Bike Guide magazine, or even better, check out past issues of Dirt Bike or MXA online and purchase the back issue with the 85cc shootout article.
BTW - even though these are small bikes - don't be fooled, they make a ton of power for their weight, and are meant for experienced riders only.

On a dirtbike, top speed will not be as relevant, as it depends on the type of track you are riding (ie. gravel, dry dirt, wet dirt, etc).
Top speeds on these listed bikes, you can get off the net. What you should be looking for is rate of acceleration, handling, suspension travel, stability, etc. These are probably more important, for a dirtbike, than top speed.

just go with whichever one you like best. as they've mentioned, beginners won't find the true power of the bike, and it's also alot of you'r style and where you're riding. track riding won't ever let you hit top speed. just pick on which bike you like best because there isn't a huge difference in the power ratings. go for comfortable, access to dealerships and repairs shops, even price.

they are all about equally fast and some power, i would recomend the suzuki rm85 or ktm 85 are the best overall. ktm a little more tricked out but parts are higher and dealers are harder to find.

just because it goes fast doesnt mean u can ride it fast so it doesnt matter. if u are a begginner u wont even get it to go that fast unless ur stupid enough to ride it on the road w/ knobbies. but all of the 2-stroke hondas suck but be a big boy and decide for urself u dont need stats i mean its not like u know what any of it means

all the major jap companies have some pretty good bikes out right now. i would just suggest going with a 4 stroke engine. more reliable, less maintance, and more predictable throttle then a 2 stroke. esp important if your a beginner.

None of those dirt bikes are fast, because they're all teeny tiny. LOL. Unless you're like 6 years old, you're not gonna like any of them.
