On target earnings.

Ie, with your basic, and if you meet your bonus targets etc, then your annual salary should work out at this...it's all about targets.

Depends on the type of job, it could mean either On Target Earnings or Opportunity To Earn

On Target Earnings. You have a basic that is guarenteed but then you have a commission based pay structure that is dependant on you meeting your targets. So if it is a basic of £20k with OTE of £45k, it means as long as you hit your sales target then you'll get something like that. That said, as with all commission based jobs, if you're not hitting your targets then your basic isn't guarenteed at all because your employer will just get rid of you.

On Target Earnings..( it just means you could earn £50,000 etc if you don't want a life ).... OTE is just a gimmick ... dont even give it a second glance.

ON TARGET EARNINGS.

So you would receive a basic salary and if you hit your target then you would receive commission so i.e. £32,000 ote £60,000 so if you hit the targit set for you then that is what your take home salary would be.
