As a Southern Red Neck,
I find the question very thought provoking.
I would assume that Northern Red Necks enjoy more privileges than we, Southern Red Necks do. For example, Northern Red Necks are able to enjoy the protection of a Union in the work place.
Southern Red Necks who are suspected of Union Organizing and Union Activities are used as bait to hunt alligators.
Northern Red Necks are privileged to enjoy the cultural diversity of of many large cities,
Southern Red Necks see a woman in a Burka and say "Bless her Heart".. and wonder if plastic surgery will help.
Northern Red Necks are somewhat leery of new people.
Southern Red Necks not only invite strangers home for supper, but share the booze and an occasional hit of some home grown left handed cigarettes.
I'm sure there are many more differences but I'm afraid I must get ready for work right now.
*red neck is not a derrogatory term--in fact I find it quite amusing,
red necks come in all shapes, sizes and colors.........

I gather you do know the definition of a red neck, and you obviously are concerned with these two regions as opposed to eastern and western rednecks, or even Canadian rednecks. I wonder why? You are probably looking for a difference in attitudes as far as racial issues are concerned, and why are you using words like wimp, and lazy? I understand that historically red necks were poor illiterate white people who worked in the fields, along side poor black people, for the same pay. These red necks were usually angry, at the world, and in competition with blacks over jobs , who were more often than not better workers for less pay at time. Red necks were looked down on, and not respected by other whites. I don't know what you are researching, but you might want to research spelling first. And another thing I don't know what you have against northern red necks, they all originated from the south, and are pretty much in the same predicament as they were then, you might like the north as well. PS, Politically the term red neck , as is any derogatory term used to describe Americans is incorrect.

Up North people definitely attempt to immitate rednecks... I doubt that occurs in the South. I went to a promenade with a guy who consistently wore John Deere shirts, drove a extensive new SUV his mom offered him and had a extensive stylish homestead with acquaintances approximately a hundred yards away. every physique from the state I stay in, up north says 'wicked' lots, like "that's wicked cool!" They in all probability hunt diverse animals. Northern pink Necks are not wimps. Niether are Southern ones. you may not consult with any hick and get independent counsel. properties could be equipped in yet differently based on the envoronment. that's all i'm able to think of of for now.

Be sure to include a distinction between Red-Necks and Taters.
Red-Necks have come to be defined by hateful ethnocentrism. And maybe bad teeth & a taste for Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Taters are just good old country boys. Give you the shirt off their backs, and they'd do it no matter what color or gender (or whatever) you are.

I disagree.
The term "Rednecks" was started by the rich elite liberal Democrats, years ago.
They made fun of people who worked out in the sun and had sunburned necks.
As usual, Democrats make fun of working people.
The term refers to all people who work outside in the weather, and not under an air-conditioner.
Red necks are red necks, no matter what part of the country they are from.
Liberals aren't Rednecks because they don't work.

Northern rednecks are imposters as rednecks are outdoor laborers not loafers, hence the term redneck. also you have to be able to see the sun, to feel the sun, and rain washes away northern red.

First of all The term "red neck" is racist and derogatory. It goes back to the time of slavery. You might want to change your terminology. I am not white and I'm offended.
