In the standard tool bar (the one with the little pictures of a blank document, a disk, a folder, etc.) you should see a paragraph symbol, just click it and it should remove the symbols on your paper, if its not on the toolbar go to the far right and click the more button (two arrows pointing to the right and one pointing down) and you should find it there.

You can hit the paragraph marking button on the standard toolbar (looks like a backward P) or You can also show or hide formatting marks by clicking Options on the Tools menu and then clicking the View tab. Under Formatting marks, select or clear the check boxes.

There should be a Paragraph symbol buttion on the toolbar. If you click it, it will hide everything. If you don't see it, click on the small arrows on the right that shows the buttons you can't fit on your toolbar. Hope I explained it accurately!!! Good luck

Uncheck the box:
Tools/Options/View/Formatting Marks/All
Also, the "Show/Hide" button on the Standard toolbar. It is a paragraph marker -- kind of looks like Pi.

Select 'Format', 'Reveal formatting' from the menu bar. On the 'reveal formatting' interface (usually on the right side of your screen), uncheck the 'Show all formatting marks' option at the bottom.
