I doubt it, they sound lovely but they are very limited in what you can play on them. The actions are rubbish ( the ones I've tried anyway) and they are a nightmare to tune. They are also fabulously expensive. A guitar is much more versatile, thats why we all play guitars.

Hold on isn;'t this "sting" the guy who told us he could have tantric sex for hours? .. then admitted he was just lying for publicity? He'll do anything to get noticed.

If the Islamic religion continues to grow at the rate it is then it is quite possible that the lute and other mideastern instruments may be.

sting is often wrong, but there's nowt wrong with a bit of experimentation; that's what art is all about.
