Is a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S a good car? What would you rate it? Any problems with it?

It is a good solid little car. The only problems we have noticed is an oil leak from the pan. This is sometimes a costly repair, but overall, the Sentra is usually a keeper.

it all depends on if the former owner kept up the maintenance on it. if the car was driven into the ground with no oil changes, filter changes, tire rotations, never washed or waxed, and generally abused, then any car will be a pile of crap. I've had almost new cars like that, that were ready for the junk yard when I got them, and older well cared for cars that I still have and are still running strong.

The sentra is a dependable little car. It's underpowered so you won't win any races in it but it'll get you where you are going.

Nissan is one of the best import cars that i known and tested. If you want to custom the car like bumper kits and euro light and etc., it will be really easy parts to find. Especially if you are going to upgrade (Fix up) the engine.

Look up consumer reports, or go to the bookstore and get their latest issue. They're by far the best judge or reliability, among other issues and are non-biased. The internet subscription costs a few bucks, but it's a great resource.

for that money i woud buy either a Chevrolet Cobalt or a Chevrolet Aveo.

If you are interested in it, take it to your mechanic for a check up, then you will know for sure and there will be no surprises.
