That would be my opinion. And they haven't done a lot for the rest of the US either. That too is my opinion. I'm sure there are a bunch of pro union folks that will disagree.
There was a time when unions were a good thing. But like the buggy whip there's not much need any more. And they can't compete with overseas labor.

Unions had a useful purpose at one time. Now they function to protect the slowest worker in any given group of people. You will never see or hear a union steward telling his people to work harder. I don't know anything about the economy in Michigan but, I would say that unions haven't done anything to help it.

I have been a union member since I started working.
The Union Bosses are corrupt and have destroyed our union movement.
Union Bosses betray us, and donate our money to the corrupt Democrat Party.
They both try to keep us on the Democrat Plantation.

Over reliance on manufacturing jobs under a republican governor has destroyed the MI economy. Thank god we have a governor who understands this and is doing somthing about it. You just want to sit around and place blame, and not look at the positives from a regime change. How republican of you

Not if you ask the Dems or liberals. 50 years ago there was a need for Unions, but not now. Take care of your own business, and don't wait around for someone to take care of it for you.
