There are a number of different approaches and it all takes time. Play F as a bar chord, you force your index finger across all the strings at the first fret and use the other 3 fingers on the A,D & E strings. Now since you're holding down all the strings, you can use the same position to play a chord anywhere on the the guitar. Experiment for a while and it will give you the confidence to learn a few more.
