Commonly, all you have to do is purify it, add iodine, and grind it.

Be careful: rock salt can contain substances other than the mineral halite. But, if you want to try to make table salt, then dissolve the rock salt in water, decant the solution (leaving any solids behind is the idea, here), and let it evaporate. The original volume of salt will crystallize, and it should be relatively pure. You might, still, want to do this several times. Because rock salt is very soluble, I would decant the solution before all the solid material dissolves, as almost any other soluble chemical with the salt will not have dissolve yet (presumably these other chemicals will be less soluble). Once you get what you think is pure salt then simply crush it, to form the cleavage fragments we recognize as table salt.

Crush, add warm water and stir to dissolve all the "real" salt. You will have impurities left behind in a salt solution. Now pass all this through filter paper, which will trap the impurities. You could do this several times. Now heat the filtrate (salt solution) to dryness and you will have pure salt.
